Members of the ASI-West Bengal State Chapter visited Dakshin Kalikata Sevasram

As part of the celebrations for Poila Baishakh, the Bengali New Year, members of the ASI-West Bengal State Chapter visited Dakshin Kalikata Sevasram, a 100year old orphanage started by Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The Ashram presently houses 57 children ranging in age from 4-18years. It was a privilege to serve lunch to the children and see the joy in the eyes of the little ones. As an institutional policy, no photographs were allowed inside the Ashram. The members of ASI-WB are grateful to the Ashram in-charges for the opportunity. May the New Year bring joy and greater opportunities for these young children.
