As we step into this new year, our newly inducted executive committee is filled with enthusiasm and a vision to take the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) to even greater heights. We are committed to building upon the incredible foundation laid in the past while introducing innovative ideas and skill-enhancing courses to strengthen the quality of surgical services.
The ASICON-2024 conference in Agra was an extraordinary and memorable event. I sincerely appreciate the dedication and hard work of the organizing committee, led by Dr. Shiva Kant Misra and then-President Dr. Probal Neogi, in making it such a remarkable success.
Continuing this legacy, our new team, led by Dr. Makhanlal Saha as Chairman and Dr. Diptendra Kumar Sarkar as Organizing Secretary, is equally committed to making ASICON-2025 in Kolkata another milestone in the history of ASI.
The organizing committee is focused on delivering an exceptional conference experience, including:
- Hands-on training workshops to enhance surgical skills.
- International collaborations to attract more postgraduate students and support postgraduate teaching programs.
- Live operative workshop from Centre of Excellence across the country
- Innovative teaching sessions—quizzes, masterclasses, and interactive programs—to cater to the diverse needs of all members attending ASICON-2025 from across the country catering to the varied socio-economic background patients.
We are confident that these initiatives, along with collaborations with multinational organizations, will mark a new chapter in ASI’s journey toward becoming a globally recognized association.
I am also excited to announce the launch of a dedicated ASI app during this conference. This app will streamline communication and coordination among all stakeholders, offering a seamless experience for faculty members, delegates, and trade participants alike during the conference.
The strength of ASI lies in its members—their skills, dedication, and passion for improving lives. I urge every member to actively contribute to shaping the academic content for this conference. Your suggestions for topics and speakers will be given the utmost consideration.
