As part of the celebration for Holi, the festival of colours, and the ongoing social activities in the run up to ASICON 2025, ASI-West Bengal State Chapter conducted a health camp at St. Joseph’s Home for the Aged, on Sunday 16th March 2025.
St Joseph’s Home caters to the care of the elderly from 65yrs onwards and has close to a hundred residents.
The camp included a general health check-up, blood pressure monitoring, CBG check, clinical examination for any surgical issues and also a Bone Mineral Density estimation (which was supported by Torrent pharma).
The camp was ably conducted under the leadership of Dr Amit Das. Both senior and junior members of the ASI-West Bengal State Chapter worked shoulder to shoulder to serve 94 residents of the Home and bring a smile on their faces.
It was an enriching experience to interact with the senior citizens and the entire team of nuns of St Joseph’s Home. The eldest member of the home who attended the check-up is all set to turn 100 next month. When the house applauded for her in unison, she gave a priceless return gift of an endearing toothless smile to us.
